Ava Pearlman

Class of 2022

My passion for horses began when I was young.  An occasional pony ride has become my life's pursuit.  I started with riding lessons at age 5 and never looked back.  All of my free time is spent riding, training, grooming, or just hanging out at the barn.  I use my Saturday mornings to volunteer at HorseAbility, a non-profit organization using equine therapy to assist individuals with special needs. As I have excelled in the ring, I have also excelled in the classroom.  This year I am starting our school's International Baccalaureate program, and I hope the advanced math and science classwork will propel me closer to my pursuit of equine veterinary medicine.  This past summer, I was lucky enough to intern with one of Long Island's premier equine veterinary groups.  I loved this experience, and it only strengthened my hopes to become an equine veterinarian.  My passion, skill, experience, and competitiveness make me an excellent candidate for collegiate riding.  No matter which college or university I decide to attend in the Fall of 2022, riding will continue to be an important part of my life.
